In Partner Hub you work with three things:
A customer is a site you add for one of your end customers, with its data and files.
Each customer gets one simulation. KanEL makes it from the customer's data.
Each simulation holds at least three scenarios: battery options compared side by side, so you can show the customer what each one earns.
One customer, one simulation, three or more scenarios. This guide covers the five steps from a new customer to a submitted one, the data KanEL needs for the simulation, and what each status means.
The five steps to submit a customer
Create the customer. In Partner Hub, open My customers and click New customer. Enter the site name, address and main fuse. Click Save draft if you do not have the files yet; the customer is saved with the status Started.
Add the consumption data. Upload at least 12 months of electricity consumption, in 15-minute or hourly values, under Consumption and production data.
Add the invoices. Upload a recent grid invoice under Grid invoice, and the customer's electricity contract or supply invoice under Electricity contract. If one invoice covers both grid and supply, tick Same invoice covers both grid and electricity supply and upload it once.
Add planned changes and other information. Under Planned changes, answer whether the customer plans more solar or a larger main fuse; KanEL simulates those plans beside the site as it is today. Under More about the site, add anything else that affects electricity use: EV chargers, an expansion, a shift in operations, or anomalies in the data such as a meter swap or a long outage.
Submit. Click Submit input data, confirm the two statements, and click Submit. KanEL checks automatically that the data is complete. When it is, the status changes to Simulation in progress.
Why planned changes matter
A simulation of the site as it is today can recommend the wrong battery if the site is about to change. When you tell KanEL about planned solar or a larger main fuse, every scenario in the simulation includes the plan. If the customer only knows a range, such as 40 to 60 kWp of solar, enter the range and KanEL recommends within it.
Other information helps KanEL read the data correctly. A meter swap, a long outage or seasonal operations can look like unusual consumption; a note saves a round of questions.
Data KanEL needs for a simulation
KanEL needs all of the following before a customer can be submitted:
Data | What it is | Where the customer finds it |
Consumption data | At least 12 months of 15-minute or hourly values, without gaps | The grid company's customer portal, usually as an export file |
Grid invoice | A recent invoice from the grid company (elnätsföretag) | The customer's invoices or the grid company's portal |
Electricity contract | The customer's supply contract or a supply invoice (elhandel) | The customer's invoices or the supplier's portal |
Main fuse | The size of the site's main fuse in ampere (A) | The grid invoice usually states it |
If the site has solar panels, also upload the electricity sold to the grid. Add the inverter's solar production if the customer has it. Purchased electricity alone only shows what passes the meter.
Each file can be at most 4 MB. Compress or split a larger file before uploading it.
Let the customer upload the data themselves
The customer usually holds the invoices and the metering data. Instead of collecting the files yourself, you can send the customer a link:
Create the customer and click Save draft.
Open the customer and find Let the customer upload the data themselves.
Enter the contact's name and email, and click Create link.
Copy the link and send it to the customer.
The customer uploads the files directly, and you see them on the customer in Partner Hub. The link stops working once the data is submitted.
When the customer cannot be submitted
If something is missing when you click Submit, the customer is saved with its files but stays at Started. The message says what is missing:
12 months of consumption data, a grid invoice and a retail contract: add the missing files and submit again.
The main fuse is missing: enter it, or upload a grid invoice that states it, and submit again.
Nothing you uploaded is lost. Open the customer from My customers, add what is missing, and submit again.
What each status means
Status | What it means | Who acts next |
Started | The customer is saved but not submitted | You, or the customer through the upload link |
Simulation in progress | The data is complete and KanEL is making the simulation | KanEL |
Simulation complete | The simulation and its scenarios are ready to view in Partner Hub | You |
Shared with customer | You have downloaded the simulation PDF with Share with customer, to send to the customer. The status changes the moment the PDF downloads | You and the customer |
Signed | The customer has signed | KanEL |
Not relevant | The customer is closed | Nobody |
To share a simulation, open it, pick the scenario you want to show, and click Share with customer. Partner Hub downloads a PDF of that scenario for you to send to the customer, and the customer's status changes to Shared with customer. KanEL does not send anything to the customer itself.
KanEL sometimes returns a submitted customer to Started with a reason, for example when a file covers the wrong period. The reason is shown on the customer. Fix what it names and submit again.
How long a simulation takes
When all the data is correct, the simulation is ready within 1 business day. You get an email when it is ready to view in Partner Hub. If something is wrong or missing, KanEL sends the customer back to you with the status Started and a reason on the customer page. Fix what it names and submit again.
